Sana Que Sana (Heal, Heal) is the debut short film by Gabriella Aguirre. After a shocking discovery of her grandfather’s double life just before his death, her grandmother returns to Colombia to say goodbye. Sana Que Sana is a tender portrait of devotion and loss, layering voice-over interviews with the Aguirre’s grandmother over delicate 16mm and 35mm footage of her native Colombia.
Sana Que Sana was selected for the New York Women in Film and Television (NYWIFT) Program at the Hamptons International Film Festival in 2022, and went on to screen at Aesthetica Film Festival, New York Latino Film Festival, New York Shorts, Indie Memphis, and the CINE+MAS SF San Francisco Latino Film Festival.
